My work centers around reduction and clarity. In both my gallery work and in public installations my intent is to present work that is accessible early and leads to reflection about the site and the situation the viewer is in both physically and emotionally. Whether it is in a gallery or a public space, animation and movement help me to latch on to the pulse of the site, amplifying natural, social, and cultural movements and time frames. I hope to provide a distinct marker for viewers to connect with and to create relationships with their situations and histories. My goal is to find and amplify the site’s most basic aspects in order to make the broadest connections between disparate parts. By making these connections, my intent is to develop a singular experience that merges the art and the site seamlessly.
