Visiting Curator Series | Episode 2 with Allison Glenn

Studios Inc and 21c Museum Hotel Kansas City are partnering to host a virtual Visiting Curator Series, in which regional and national curators are invited to share about their practices, goals, and vision in regard to establishing community and destination through a focus of fine art.

Allison M. Glenn is Associate Curator, Contemporary Art at Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, where she shapes how outdoor sculpture activates and engages the museum’s 120-acre campus. Glenn’s forthcoming outdoor sculpture programs foreground artist-led conversations and institutional collaborations. She was co-curator of State of the Art 2020, which opened simultaneously at the Momentary and Crystal Bridges; and spearheaded the adaptation of Hank Willis Thomas: All Things Being Equal… (2020) at Crystal Bridges. Prior to this, Glenn was Manager of Publications and Curatorial Associate for Prospect.4: The Lotus in Spite of the Swamp. Her writing has been featured in exhibition publications produced by The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, Prospect New Orleans, DePaul Art Museum, Rebuild Foundation, the California African American Museum, University at Buffalo Art Galleries, and The Studio Museum in Harlem. She has contributed to Hyperallergic, ART21 Magazine, ART PAPERS, Pelican Bomb’s Art Review, Newcity, and a forthcoming essay in Marshall Brown: Recurrent Visions, published by Princeton Architectural Press (2021).
