Emily Sall continues Residency via the Extension Program

Emily Sall has applied and was selected to continue her residency at Studios Inc via the Extension Program.  Sall shares,

“Moving forward and looking to the next two years, it is my intention to keep up the momentum and dedication I have created in my time at Studios Inc. I can only imagine that the opportunities will increase and so will the growth of the work and projects that I have in mind. I know my growth, as evidenced in my work and in the projects I have in mind, will only invite more opportunities to create. I feel more connected to the arts community as a whole and have a renewed sense of pride and confidence in myself as an artist and in the work I am producing.”

Artists in the third year of their residency at Studios Inc are invited to apply for the Extension Program, which allows the artists to continue to work in their studio for up to two years after the completion of their three year residency.  In this program, the artist is tasked with raising funds to support their studio at Studios Inc.  The Extension Program acts as a stepping stone that allows artists to develop fundraising skills and hone their patron network.

“I have taken this opportunity very seriously. When I learned that I would be granted a studio my first thought was that I would not only hold myself accountable to Studios Inc and the patrons, but more importantly for my artistic growth, I would be accountable to myself as an artist. I would put in the time and effort for the best studio practice and improvement in my work.”
