Studios Inc announces the two artists accepted into its Residency Program in 2022: Harold Smith and Hong Chun Zhang

Studios Inc’s latest exhibition, CURATOR’S CHOICE, invited nine curators to chose an artwork from the Studios Inc Collection to showcase and share their thought about the work.

Emily Spradling, a freelance writer interested in the intersections of art, culture and LGBTQ+ issues, wrote a review of Benjamin Rosenthal’s solo exhibition “and the band played on, and on on” for KC Studio Magazine.

Our fourth guest in the Visiting Curator Series was Maria Seda-Reeder from Cincinnati, OH, who joined us at 21c Museum Hotel to discuss her practice and answer questions from the audience.

Current Intern, Lauren Markley, interviewed former intern, Cicely Jones, about her internship experience at Studios Inc.

Artist Emily Sall will continue at Studios Inc for an additional two years by participating in the Extension Program. Extension Program residents are responsible for fundraising to underwrite cost of the studio space.

Studios Inc welcomes Peregrine Honig into its Residency Program. Honig recently celebrated the 21st year of the West 18th St. Fashion and currently has a solo exhibition on view at the Albrecht-Kemper Museum in St.Joseph.

TO BE DETERMINED is an exhibition curated by the Studios Inc interns who have direct access to the Studios Inc collection, as well as past and present residents of the program. The title of the exhibition allows the interns freedom to develop and execute their curatorial concept and vision; it is suggestive of the drive of the students who are committed to developing their professional practice and honing their skillset.
